The Pittsburgh Steelers claimed wide receiver Jacoby Jones off waivers from the San Diego Chargers on Thursday.

Jones, who's averaged 27.1 yards per kick return in his career, will immediately bolster the special teams and provide additional offensive depth.

The veteran return specialist is, of course, no stranger to the organization. Playing for the division-rival Baltimore Ravens in 2013, Jones was nearly tripped by Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin while returning a kick down the sidelines.

Pittsburgh released 2014 third-round draft pick Dri Archer in a corresponding move to create space on the 53-man roster.

Archer didn't make an impact on special teams in his time with the Steelers, averaging 22.4 yards per kick return in 20 regular-season games.
