Lions place DeAndre Levy on IR
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
The Detroit Lions placed linebacker DeAndre Levy on injured reserve Wednesday, officially ending his season.
A hip injury limited Levy to just one appearance (and zero tackles) this season. He recently underwent surgery.
Though some reports suggested there was a chance Levy could return this year, it simply makes no sense for the 1-7 Lions to rush him back.
To fill the roster spot vacated by Levy, the Lions signed linebacker James-Michael Johnson, who spent time this season with both the Jacksonville Jaguars (two games) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (one game).
