Report: Georgia told Alabama about Jonathan Taylor's past before he enrolled
Alabama knew the details of defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor's arrest for assault before they added him to the program, according to Nicole Noren of ESPN.
Taylor was dismissed from Georgia following a July 2014 incident where he allegedly beat up his then-20-year-old girlfriend. Taylor struck the woman with a closed fist and choked her, according to the incident report.
Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity shared the details of Taylor's arrest with Alabama athletic director Bill Battle before Taylor enrolled at the school, according to Noren.
Taylor joined Alabama in January before being dismissed from the team after an additional arrest for allegedly assaulting another woman in March. Head coach Nick Saban and Alabama's athletic department faced scrutiny at the time of Taylor's dismissal for bringing him in to begin with.
Taylor recently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana.
