Report: Wizards to sign Jaleel Roberts to non-guaranteed deal

The Washington Wizards are closing in on signing center Jaleel Roberts to a non-guaranteed contract, RealGM's Shams Charania reports.

The 7-foot Roberts went undrafted this summer after four seasons with UNC Asheville. He struggled to find playing time and only managed 20 minutes per game as a senior last season, where he averaged 7.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks on 61.8 percent shooting from the field.

Given that the Wizards already have 15 players on guaranteed contracts, Roberts is likely a longshot to make the team. Still, it can't hurt to get an extended look at a 7-footer with excellent shot-blocking instincts.
