David Robinson's son Justin to be 2015 preferred walk-on for Duke
Christmas has come early for the Duke basketball program.
Justin Robinson, son of two-time NBA champion David Robinson, will join the basketball team next year after gaining early acceptance as part of the Class of 2019.
The 6-foot-7 power forward will be a walk-on team member, not costing the Blue Devils a scholarship spot, according to 247Sports.
"I'm happy to get early decision from Duke since it is so amazing academically," said Justin. "It's been a long time dream for me. The opportunity to be a preferred walk-on is exciting and I'm looking forward to being a part of the Duke Basketball tradition."
Head coach Mike Krzyzewski once coached the elder Robinson on the 1992 Dream Team, and Robinson has spoken highly of the Blue Devils coach.
