Seahawks' Kam Chancellor dealing with ankle injury

Joe Nicholson / USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor had an impressive showing on Sunday, forcing a fumble and intercepting Denver's Peyton Manning, but head coach Pete Carroll revealed on Monday that he did it with a bad ankle.

Per Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR, Carroll said Chancellor's ankle has been an issue for some time and it really flared up in Week 2 against the San Diego Chargers.

Things got so bad that the Seahawks were contemplating the idea of Chancellor having surgery to clean up bone spurs, according to FOX Sports, which would have sidelined him for 6-8 weeks.

However, with the way Chancellor felt after dealing with the Broncos, things look to be on hold for the time being.

"Man, it felt great today," Chancellor said. "Last week, it was bothering me. But this week, it felt amazing. We did some different stuff to fix it up, fix the shoes and stuff and it felt awesome."
