Jordan Washington and Artimas Samuel leave Mississippi State

The Mississippi Sate Bulldogs lost a pair of players Wednesday, as tight end Artimas Samuel and defensive tackle Jordan Washington have left the team, per a report from The Clarion-Ledger.

Washington, a redshirt freshman, was indefinitely suspended by Mississippi State in April following his arrest for suspicion of burglary. He will play next season at West Georgia, a Division II school.

Samuel appeared in seven games last season for the Bulldogs and started in the Liberty Bowl, but he had fallen behind Malcolm Johnson, Brandon Hill and Darrion Hutcherson on the depth chart. Samuel caught four passes for 47 yards last season including a four-yard touchdown in the Liberty Bowl.

No word on where Samuel intends to transfer, but if he stays within the FBS he will have to sit out next season per NCAA transfer rules.
