As the New York Rangers prepare for the Stanley Cup Final, Derek Stepan isn't holding a grudge against Montreal Canadiens forward Brandon Prust, whose suspension-worthy hit left him with a fractured jaw.

"I'm not going to hold it against [Prust]. He finished his check," Stepan said via NHL.com. "He feels bad about it. He knows it was late. We move on from there."

It probably helps that Stepan's season continues while Prust is getting ready to hit the links, but it's hard to forget this kind of incident when you're eating out of a straw for six weeks.

He also credits the Rangers' medical staff for getting him ready to play after a one-game absence.

"The staff and the doctors did an unbelievable job. I give all those guys credit for getting me ready to play hockey," Stepan said. "I was listening to the doctors. I wasn't going to play unless they gave me full clearance and knew that I was going to be protected. Once I got the heads up to go, I got myself ready."
