Shane Battier: 'It would take an act of God' for me not to retire at end of season

The 35-year-old Miami Heat forward had hinted at retirement before, but this is most definitive answer he's given on the subject.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season and his production on the decline, it's not particularly surprising that Battier sees now as the right time to walk away from the game.
