GIF: Matt Bonner, Rim Protector

Brian Roberts was feeling pretty good about himself on Monday night.

Late in the second quarter with his New Orleans Pelicans up three on the San Antonio Spurs, Roberts carved up the Spurs defense on his way to the rim.

First, he used a screen to get past Tony Parker. Then, with Tim Duncan sagging into the paint off the screen, Roberts flashed his own take on the pro-hop to get by Duncan. Boom, layup.

Nope.

He forgot about Matt Bonner, help defender extraordinaire, who left Alexis Ajinca to deny Roberts with his fourth - count 'em, fourth - block of the season.
