The New York Mets placed outfielder Juan Soto on the 10-day injured list due to a right calf strain, the team announced Monday.
The club noted that a typical recovery timeline for this injury is around two-to-three weeks. The move is retroactive to Saturday.
Soto suffered the injury while running the bases during Friday night's win over the San Francisco Giants. He was deemed day-to-day after undergoing an MRI on Saturday.
The four-time All Star was batting .355 with one home run, five RBIs, and a .928 OPS through eight games.
The Mets are 6-4 and riding a three-game winning streak. They have an off day Monday before resuming play against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
New York called up infielder Ronny Mauricio in a corresponding move.
