Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts will land on the 10-day injured list after an MRI showed a right oblique strain, the team announced.
Manager Dave Roberts opted against putting a firm timeline on Betts' return, saying he hopes to have Betts back earlier than the four-to-six weeks an oblique injury typically requires, according to The Athletic's Katie Woo.
Betts exited Saturday's 10-5 win over the Washington Nationals in the first inning in discomfort.
Dave Roberts said Betts tweaked his oblique on a check swing during his AB, but really felt it running when he scored on Freeman’s double. #Dodgers https://t.co/X9qLyAfsZ7

Through eight games, Betts is hitting .179/.281/.429.
In a corresponding roster move, the Dodgers activated Hyeseong Kim.
