Report: Bengals continue to bolster defense, add Allen on 2-year deal
The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to a two-year contract with free-agent defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
It's a $26-million deal that can be worth up to $28 million with incentives, reports NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Allen officially became a free agent Wednesday after spending the past season with the Minnesota Vikings. The 2017 first-round pick previously played eight seasons for the Washington Commanders, earning two Pro Bowl berths.
The 31-year-old is coming off a solid campaign with the Vikings, registering 68 tackles (seven for loss) and 3.5 sacks.
The Bengals have prioritized their defense this offseason after missing the playoffs the past three years. Cincinnati has also signed edge rusher Boye Mafe and safety Bryan Cook.
