Report: Nationals expected to trade Gore this winter
Washington Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore might be suiting up for a new team in 2026.
Multiple front offices around the league believe the Nationals will trade the 26-year-old in the coming days, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.
More than half of the league has checked in on Gore's availability, reports The Athletic's Will Sammon and Ken Rosenthal.
Gore put together a solid 2025 campaign for Washington despite posting a 5-15 record, earning his first All-Star nod and finishing with a career best 10.4 K/9 in 159 2/3 innings.
The former third overall pick is under club control for two more seasons and projects to earn $4.7 million in arbitration, according to MLB Trade Rumors.
Washington is operating under new president of baseball operations Paul Toboni this offseason.
