Report: Jaguars listening to trade calls for Brian Thomas Jr.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are listening to trade calls for second-year wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., reports The Athletic's Dianna Russini.

However, a trade coming together seems highly unlikely, Russini adds. Still, the Jaguars not completely shutting down the idea comes as a surprise, considering the 23-year-old finished fourth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting in 2024.

Thomas caught 87 passes for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, earning a Pro Bowl nod. While his sophomore campaign has been slightly underwhelming relative to the lofty standards he established as a rookie, Thomas still paces Jacksonville with 365 receiving yards in seven games.

He's under contract for at least two more seasons - three if the team decides to pick up his fifth-year option. The Jaguars drafted Thomas 23rd overall in 2024, although that was under the organization's previous regime. Jacksonville hired Liam Coen as head coach in January and James Gladstone as general manager in February.

The Jaguars, who rank 16th in the NFL in points against, are also shopping for players on defense, Russini adds. They enter Sunday holding the third and final wild-card spot in the AFC with a 4-3 record.

Jacksonville owns 12 picks in the 2026 draft, but it's without a first-rounder after trading up to select two-way star Travis Hunter in 2025.
