Nico Hulkenberg: Remarkable finish in Spain
Hulkenberg finished fifth at the Spanish Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday.
Analysis:
Hulkenberg didn't appear to be in line for any type of special weekend after qualifying 15th. However, he drove impressively in all three stints of Sunday's race, picking up a few spots as the lights went out on the opening lap. Hulkenberg then ran an impressive 30 laps on medium tires in his second stint, pushing him into point-scoring range. Finally, he got fresh soft tires after the field was bunched up by a safety car late in the race, allowing him to pick up an additional two spots to deliver his best finish of the season and second points-scoring finish.
