X map shows most of U.S. cheering for Iowa in Final Four

The Caitlin Clark effect is still going strong.

A map created by BetOnline.ag based on geotagged X data gathered since Sunday - including over 270,000 tweets containing official fan hashtags - shows Iowa is the overwhelming favorite NCAA Tournament Final Four team across the United States.

Iowa has 45 states rooting for it to win the women's tournament, followed by UConn with three states. South Carolina and NC State are each favored in one state.

On the men's side, rooting interest is more divided. Purdue and NC State are tied as the favorites with 17 states each, followed by UConn with 13 states and Alabama with three.

The women's Final Four gets underway Friday night, while the men's semifinal will be played Saturday.
