Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving signed a five-year endorsement deal with Chinese brand ANTA, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania on Tuesday.

Irving also agreed to stand as the company's Chief Creative Officer, tasked with recruiting other players to the brand and helping it grow in the United States, Charania adds.

ANTA currently has a small handful of NBA clients on its roster, including Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson and Charlotte Hornets wing Gordon Hayward.

The eight-time All-Star was previously signed to Nike, but his partnership with the company was terminated late last year after he shared a film with anti-Semitic rhetoric on social media. He was then suspended for eight games after he failed to "unequivocally say he has no anti-Semitic beliefs."

Soon after his suspension, Irving was dealt from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks, where he failed to advance to the playoffs. He averaged 27.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists between the two clubs on the year.

Irving signed a three-year, $120 million maximum deal with the Mavericks this summer with a player option in the third season.
