The former Tigers signal-caller entered the transfer portal last week after one season with the program.
Howard joined LSU as the 42nd overall recruit and third-ranked dual-threat passer in the 2022 recruiting class on the ESPN 300.
However, the Louisiana native didn't see much of the field during his freshman campaign. Howard completed 2 of 4 pass attempts for 7 yards last season, adding 33 rushing yards. He'll have four years of eligibility remaining after taking a redshirt last season.
The Tigers appeared to be set at quarterback after Jayden Daniels announced he'd return for the 2023 season. Garrett Nussmeier is expected to be the backup ahead of his third year in the program.
Howard will join an Ole Miss quarterback group that's headlined by former USC transfer Jaxson Dart. He joins the Rebels after backup Luke Altmyer left the program and joined Illinois following the end of the 2022 season.
