Report: Hawks emerge as potential trade destination for Crowder
The Atlanta Hawks held discussions with the Phoenix Suns in recent weeks and months regarding a trade for Jae Crowder, sources told Stadium's Shams Charania.
The Hawks reportedly intend to complement their new Big Three of Trae Young, John Collins, and Dejounte Murray with Crowder, who can defend multiple positions while also spacing the floor on offense.
Phoenix is seeking to trade Crowder as part of a mutual agreement with the forward that has kept him out of the team's preseason training camp.
Multiple clubs have expressed trade interest in the 32-year-old veteran, according to Charania. However, it's unclear how far discussions between Phoenix and the interested teams have gone.
Across two seasons in the desert, Crowder has averaged 9.7 points, five rebounds, two assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 36.9% from beyond the arc. In his debut Suns campaign, he helped the franchise reach its first Finals since 1993, but the team fell in six games to the Milwaukee Bucks. Crowder started all 67 of his appearances last season as Phoenix finished with an NBA-best 64-18 record.
