Charles Leclerc: Second place at Monza
Leclerc finished second at the Italian Grand Prix F1 race at Autodromo Nazionale Monza on Sunday.
Analysis:
Leclerc began the race on pole and held a lead over Max Verstappen until lap 33, when he took his second pit stop of the race. From there, Leclerc had fresher tires but had a 20-second deficity to try to make up. A late safety car threatened to make things interesting, but the race ended under the yellow flag. Leclerc finished on the podium for the second consecutive grand prix, and had his highest finish since winning the Austrian Grand Prix. He holds a nine-point lead of Sergio Perez for second place in the driver standings.
