Report: Raptors add Otto Porter on 2-year, $12.4M deal
The Toronto Raptors signed veteran forward Otto Porter Jr. to a two-year deal that includes a player option for the second season, sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.
The deal is worth $12.4 million, according to TSN's Josh Lewenberg.
Porter contributed to the Golden State Warriors' recent championship run, averaging 5.4 points on 49% shooting from the field - including 40% from beyond the arc - in 19 playoff games. He averaged 8.2 points and 5.7 rebounds in 63 regular-season contests.
Golden State offered Porter a veteran minimum contract, but Toronto offered more, reports The Athletic's Anthony Slater.
The 2013 third overall pick has bounced around since spending the first six years of his career with the Washington Wizards, suiting up for the Chicago Bulls and Orlando Magic before joining the Warriors last season.
Porter joins a Raptors franchise that re-signed big men Chris Boucher and Thaddeus Young in free agency.
Meanwhile, Golden State also reportedly lost veteran guard Gary Payton II to the Portland Trail Blazers on a three-year, $28-million contract.
