Freddie Freeman's market continues to grow.

The Boston Red Sox are the latest team to show interest in signing the free-agent first baseman, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman.

Freeman's other known suitors include the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, and Toronto Blue Jays, per Heyman.

Boston's interest in Freeman comes after the team predominantly used Bobby Dalbec at first base last season. The young infielder posted a .792 OPS with 25 homers for the Red Sox before losing playing time to Kyle Schwarber down the stretch.

Freeman isn't only an upgrade over Dalbec at the plate, but he's also a far superior defender. The 32-year-old has a Gold Glove on his resume as well as better overall numbers in UZR and defensive runs saved.

A possible Freeman addition would load Boston's lineup with another offensive threat alongside Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts, and J.D. Martinez as the team seeks its first division title since 2018.

Freeman is one of the top remaining free agents on the open market after an incredible 12-year run with the Atlanta Braves where he was a five-time All-Star, 2020 National League MVP, and World Series winner.

Freeman's run with the Braves presumably ended Monday after Atlanta acquired fellow first baseman Matt Olson in a trade with the Oakland Athletics.
