Report: Sky star Vandersloot returning on 1-year deal
Five-time reigning assists leader and three-time All-Star Courtney Vandersloot has agreed to return to the Chicago Sky on a one-year contract, sources told ESPN's Mechelle Voepel.
Vandersloot, 33, averaged 10.5 points, 8.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game in 2021, helping the Sky win the first championship in franchise history.
The Sky have had a busy offseason, re-signing Finals MVP Kahleah Copper, poaching 2019 Finals MVP Emma Meesseman from the Washington Mystics, and adding slick-passing 2020 All-Rookie selection Julie Allemand from the Indiana Fever in a multi-team trade. Gone are former All-Stars Stefanie Dolson and Diamond DeShields.
Still unsigned is longtime Sky wing Allie Quigley, Vandersloot's wife and a three-time All-Star in her own right.
