Johnson docuseries 'They Call Me Magic' to premiere in April

Magic Johnson's documentary series has a title and release date.

Apple TV+ announced Friday that "They Call Me Magic," a four-part series about the life and career of the NBA Hall of Famer, will premiere on April 22.

First teased in 2020, "They Call Me Magic" will follow Johnson's journey from his upbringing in Lansing, Michigan, to his legendary career with the Los Angeles Lakers. It'll also explore how Johnson helped change the conversation around HIV and delve into his roles as a community activist and entrepreneur.

The Rick Famuyiwa-directed series will feature never-before-seen footage and interviews with Johnson, his family, and more.
