Ticket stub from Jordan's NBA debut sells for record $264K
A ticket stub from Michael Jordan's NBA debut with the Chicago Bulls set a new memorabilia record at auction Friday.
The stub fetched $264,000 in a Huggins & Scott Auctions sale, shattering the record for the most expensive collectible sports ticket ever sold, according to ESPN's Dan Hajducky.
The previous record was $175,000, set in October by a ticket stub from Game 3 of the 1903 World Series.
Jordan made his NBA debut on Oct. 26, 1984, against the Washington Bullets at the now-demolished Chicago Stadium. He finished with 16 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and four blocks in a 109-93 Bulls victory.
In October, a pair of game-worn Nike Air Ships from Jordan's rookie season sold for $1.472 million to set a record for sneakers at auction.
