Former LSU athletic director Joe Alleva recommended the program fire former head coach Les Miles for "inappropriate behavior" in 2013, he wrote in an email documented in an internal investigative report released Friday.

The recommendation was part of an investigation that looked into how LSU handled prior sexual misconducts. Alleva's petition didn't result in Miles' termination, and the sideline boss coached the Tigers until 2016.

"One more time I want us to think about which scenario is worse for LSU," Alleva wrote. "Explaining why we let him go or explaining why we let him stay. Proactive or reactive."

"I always believe that people are innocent until proven guilty and in this case I believe he is guilty of insubordination, inappropriate behavior, putting the university, athletic (department), and football program at great risk," he continued. "I think we have cause.

"I specifically told him not to text, call, or be alone with any student workers and he obviously didn't listen. I know there are many possible outcomes and risk either way, but I believe it is in the best interest in the long run to make a break. The court of public opinion would favor us."

The new information also follows a 2013 internal report that USA Today obtained, which documents accusations against Miles from female students. He was banned from contacting female students after the probe found his behavior to be inappropriate.

Miles is currently the head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks.
