Report: Blue Jays among teams talking to Phillies about Segura
Two-time All-Star Jean Segura is on the trading block.
The Philadelphia Phillies infielder's name is coming up in trade talks, reports Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
The Toronto Blue Jays are one of the clubs talking to the Phillies about a potential deal involving the 30-year-old, sources told FanSided's Robert Murray.
Toronto is reportedly looking for infield help and has already been connected to free agents DJ LeMahieu and Kolten Wong.
Incumbent second baseman Cavan Biggio could switch positions if the Blue Jays land an upgrade. The club also needs immediate help at third - a position Segura started at 21 times last season.
When asked about Cavan Biggio, Atkins said there are scenarios where he's the primary 3B in '21. #BlueJays love his athleticism & attitude. Not to say that’s likely, though. Depends on who Jays add. And on Vlad Jr., who has at least cracked the door open to playing some 3B in '21
