In historic fashion, Deiveson Figueiredo accepted his next fight just hours after defending the UFC flyweight title.

Figueiredo verbally agreed to face Brandon Moreno at UFC 256 on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas, sources told ESPN's Ariel Helwani early Sunday morning.

Figueiredo submitted Alex Perez less than two minutes into his first title defense, which headlined UFC 255 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Moreno, the No. 1-ranked contender, defeated Brandon Royval on the same card. Figueiredo called him out in his postfight interview, and Moreno also expressed interest in a title shot.

If Figueiredo-Moreno is finalized, it would be the quickest turnaround for a champion and/or challenger in a UFC title fight at 21 days, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

UFC 256 also features a bantamweight title clash between champion Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling.
