The 2020 head coach hot seat watch has officially kicked off.

The winless New York Jets will be internally monitoring head coach Adam Gase and his performance this week against the Indianapolis Colts, league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

The team's showing this upcoming Thursday night against the Denver Broncos could be "perhaps more telling," Mortensen adds.

Gase has been under scrutiny from fans while failing to help his squad take the next step with Sam Darnold at quarterback. He earned a 7-9 record in his first year with Gang Green, and Gase is off to an 0-2 start in 2020.

The Jets have suffered a rash of injuries early in the season, specifically on offense. Despite a number of key players being on the sideline, Gase's results will still be monitored moving forward.
