Raptors select Malachi Flynn with No. 29 pick
With the No. 29 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors have selected point guard Malachi Flynn out of San Diego State.
Flynn's decision to transfer to San Diego State from Washington State in 2018 paid off royally, as he put up 17.6 points, 5.1 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game with 37.3% shooting on 3-pointers. The redshirt junior's play was a major catalyst to the Aztecs' 26-0 start to the 2019-20 campaign.
San Diego State ultimately fell to Utah State in the Mountain West tournament final, but Flynn still took home a boatload of awards for his stellar season. The 22-year-old won the conference's Player and Defensive Player of the Year awards, and he was also named a consensus second-team All-American.
