New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson is undergoing a four-day quarantine period and could be ready for the club's opening game in Orlando, the NBA announced Saturday, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Williamson began his quarantine period on Friday when he returned to the campus environment.

The rookie phenom left the bubble on July 16 to attend an "emergency family medical matter." Williamson was eligible for a shorter quarantine period because he underwent daily COVID-19 testing and produced negative results for each day he was away.

New Orleans will resume their 2019-20 campaign Thursday against the Utah Jazz. The Pelicans sit 3 1/2 games back of the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.
