Free-agent outfielder Kole Calhoun is starting to get some looks from a variety of teams.

The Toronto Blue Jays, Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, and Miami Marlins are all showing interest in adding the 32-year-old, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

The Blue Jays have been signaling a willingness to spend all winter, although they've yet to sign a free agent of impact. Adding an outfield bat is an area of focus for them; the Blue Jays have also been connected to names such as Japanese stars Yoshitomo Tsutsugo and Shogo Akiyama.

Milwaukee is also in need of a power bat, having already lost Yasmani Grandal and Mike Moustakas this offseason. Adding Calhoun in right could allow the team to shift former MVP Christian Yelich to left field, with Ben Gamel moving into a bench role.

The Reds are still chasing additional upgrades after signing Moustakas, particularly in the outfield. They're one of several teams also said to be in on Marcell Ozuna.

Miami, one of the worst teams in baseball last year, could use Calhoun as a veteran piece to help boost a weak rebuilding squad at what's likely to be an affordable cost.

Calhoun became a free agent after the Los Angeles Angels declined his $14-million option. He'd spent his entire eight-year career to date with the Angels, and served as their primary right fielder since 2014.

Calhoun showed a slight improvement in 2019 after two down years at the plate, slashing .232/.325/.467 (108 OPS+) with a career-high 33 home runs over 632 plate appearances. But the former Gold Glove winner had an atypical down year on defense, accruing minus-1 defensive runs saved in right.
