It appears that Kawhi Leonard left no stone unturned during his pursuit of a running mate.

The reigning Finals MVP not only recruited Paul George and Kevin Durant to join him on the Los Angeles Clippers, but also Kyrie Irving "at points," sources told ESPN's Zach Lowe.

It's unclear when Leonard approached Irving or what the details of their conversations were.

The two-time Defensive Player of the Year also reportedly reached out to Durant before the Clippers apparently acquired George. Durant was reportedly stunned by Leonard's recruiting pitch but ultimately chose to team up with Irving in Brooklyn. With the pair out of the way, Leonard committed to the Clippers to team up with George.

Leonard and George are two of the NBA's best wing defenders who, barring injury, should help Los Angeles challenge for a title this season.
