Barbados tourism company: Kawhi didn't accept free trip for re-signing with Raptors
Kawhi Leonard was recently offered a free trip to Barbados if he re-signed with the Toronto Raptors, so some eyebrows were raised when photos surfaced this week showing him vacationing on the Caribbean island.
As it turns out, Leonard chose to go to Barbados on his own dime.
A spokesperson for Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., whose Canadian office made the offer, issued a clarification to Rob Gillies of The Associated Press on Friday, noting that the company didn't sponsor Leonard's trip.
Kawhi Leonard did not accept a free vacation to Barbados. A spokeswoman for BTMI Canada, the tourism board, said they did not sponsor Leonard’s “personal vacation” in any way. BTMI had offered a free trip it he agreed to stay with the Toronto Raptors. The offer still stands.

Leonard is reportedly expected to meet with the Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and New York Knicks after free agency begins June 30.
