Lakers fan organizing protest outside Staples Center
Los Angeles Lakers fans are preparing to stage a protest to voice their their displeasure with the organization.
A fan announced Wednesday on the Lakers subreddit that he'll be holding a protest outside Staples Center on either Friday or Saturday with the hope of garnering media coverage.
"Why? Jeannie hates bad PR. She don't care about us, but cares what the media says," the fan wrote. "Point is to spin the narrative to the Talking Heads 'Is Jeannie the opposite of her Father?' and have them talk."
The fan also listed chants they want to be used during the protest, which include "Sell the team!" and "No Jason Kidd!"
Reports emerged Wednesday that Tyronn Lue informed the Lakers he's no longer interested in the team's head coaching vacancy after declining a three-year offer. The Lakers were reportedly hoping to have Kidd on Lue's staff.
