Anthony Davis landed in some hot water for his choice of attire Tuesday night, but the New Orleans Pelicans star says it wasn't by design.

Davis went to the Pelicans' final regular-season game in a shirt with "That's All Folks!" written on the front. Some believed the shirt's purpose was to signify that this would be Davis' final appearance as a Pelican.

The 26-year-old denied he was trying to send any type of message, though.

"I didn't choose it. I actually didn't choose it. It was hanging for me already when I put my clothes on," Davis said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell.

Davis also said he wasn't sure who picked out the shirt.

The big man requested to be traded from the Pelicans in January after informing them he wouldn't sign an extension this summer and would become a free agent in 2020. He was regularly the subject of reported trade talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and Pelicans leading up to the deadline.

Despite the drama surrounding his future, Davis said he would be content to spend another year in the Big Easy.

"I'm under contract still," he told Friedell. "I have a year left. Obviously, it's a possibility it could happen. I don't have ill will towards anybody. I know that it's a possibility that next year I could be here as well. So I can't be mad if I'm here next year."
