Halladay, Rivera, Edgar, Mussina elected to Baseball Hall of Fame
Cooperstown is welcoming four new members.
Roy Halladay, Mariano Rivera, Edgar Martinez, and Mike Mussina were elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday after securing the required 75 percent of the 425 votes cast by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
Rivera became the first unanimous inductee in the Hall's history.
"Amazing. ... It was a beautiful, long career," Rivera said on MLB Network.

Edgar Martinez | 10th | 363 | 85.4% |

Halladay, the other first-ballot inductee, died in November 2017 in a single-plane crash. The beloved workhorse pitched 16 seasons for the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies, throwing two no-hitters and winning a pair of Cy Young Awards.
"If only Roy were here to personally express his gratitude for this honor, what an even more amazing day this would be," Halladay's widow Brandy said in a statement to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki.
"It means so much to me, Braden, and Ryan."
Martinez, who spent his entire career with the Seattle Mariners, goes into the Hall of Fame on his 10th and final time on the ballot. The Puerto Rican is widely considered to be the greatest designated hitter in the game.
