Stephen Curry sported a pair of custom "Moon Landing" Under Armour Curry 6 sneakers for Thursday's game against the Houston Rockets, a reference to comments he made suggesting the moon landing was staged.

The Golden State Warriors star now plans to auction off the NASA-themed kicks on eBay to raise money for STEM education programs in the Bay Area, according to Nick DePaula of ESPN.

This marks the third straight season that Curry has auctioned off a pair of his game-worn shoes for a good cause. He raised $45,201 for victims of Oakland's Ghost Ship warehouse fire in 2016 and $31,740 for the Curry Family Foundation last season.

Curry told DePaula he was "1,000 percent" joking when he made the moon-landing comments and will take NASA up on its offer to tour the lunar lab when he visits Houston in March.

"I am going to educate myself firsthand on everything that NASA has done and shine a light on their tremendous work over the years," Curry said. "And hopefully people understand that education is power, informing yourself is power ... I'm going to go to NASA and I'm going to enjoy the experience wholeheartedly."

The auction for the "Moon Landing" Curry 6s will run from Jan. 6 to Jan. 13.
