Nuggets waive Nick Young
The Denver Nuggets waived guard Nick Young on Sunday, the team announced.
Denver used its injury hardship exception to sign Young on Dec. 10, shortly after losing Gary Harris to a hip ailment.
The Nuggets were forced to part ways with Young thanks to the return of Paul Millsap (toe) and the near arrivals of Harris and Will Barton (hip), according to team insider Chris Dempsey.
Young appeared in just four games for a combined 37 minutes and did not play in the team's last three contests.
Despite sitting atop the Western Conference standings, the Nuggets have suffered a slew of injuries with Isaiah Thomas (hip) and rookie Michael Porter Jr. (back) also sidelined.
Young, 33, struggled to land a deal in the offseason after winning an NBA championship as a reserve with the Golden State Warriors.
