Report: Cubs' Schwarber not available for trade
Multiple teams have reportedly contacted the Chicago Cubs about the availability of outfielder Kyle Schwarber, and they've all been turned away.
The Cubs have reportedly informed interested parties that Schwarber isn't available for trade, according to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports.
Schwarber has been the subject of trade rumors for what seems like an eternity. The Boston Red Sox had asked about him last offseason, and in the summer of 2017, the Cubs reportedly pursued a Schwarber trade with the Detroit Tigers in exchange for either Michael Fulmer or Daniel Norris.
The 25-year-old is coming off a solid 2018 campaign. While he only hit .238, he made up for it with a .356 OBP and 26 home runs. Schwarber also adapted to his relatively new position in left field, where he committed just one error and contributed 11 outfield assists.
