Steve Pearce is back for more in Boston.

The Red Sox have re-signed the 2018 World Series MVP to a one-year contract, the team announced on Friday. Pearce will reportedly earn $6.25 million in 2019, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

His deal also reportedly contains unspecified award bonuses, and there are no incentive clauses, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.

The Red Sox acquired the 35-year-old midway through last season in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays, and Pearce made an immediate impact. Over 50 regular-season games with Boston, he hit .279/.394/.507 with seven home runs and 26 RBIs as part of a first-base platoon with Mitch Moreland.

In the playoffs, Pearce's star shone brightest during the World Series, when he put up a 1.667 OPS with eight RBIs and three homers - including two in the championship-clinching Game 5 - and was named the series MVP.

Pearce will likely continue to serve in a first-base platoon with Moreland in 2019, as he hits southpaws better than right-handed pitchers.

For his career, Pearce owns a .257/.336/.447 slash line with 90 home runs, 127 doubles, and 294 RBIs across 737 regular-season games with seven teams.

Pearce is one of only two players in history to have suited up for all five AL East teams in the division's current incarnation, the other being former infielder Kelly Johnson.
