Report: Les Miles emerges as front-runner for Kansas HC vacancy
Former LSU head coach Les Miles has emerged as a front-runner to be hired as the next head coach at Kansas, a source told Bruce Feldman of The Athletic.
The Jayhawks announced Sunday that current coach David Beaty won't be retained at the end of the season, ending his four-year run with the team.
Miles has been absent from the coaching ranks since LSU fired him during the 2016 season. He compiled a 114-34 overall record in over 11 seasons with the Tigers.
The 64-year-old also coached Oklahoma State between 2001-2004, finishing with a 28-21 record.
Beaty has compiled a 6-39 record in three-plus seasons with Kansas. The team currently sits at 3-6 following a 27-3 loss to Iowa State on Saturday. The Jayhawks haven't finished a campaign with a winning record since 2008.
