Eighth-ranked light heavyweight Glover Teixeira will withdraw from the UFC Fight Night 137 main event against Jimi Manuwa due to a shoulder injury, sources told ESPN's Ariel Helwani.
Teixeira may need surgery on his injured shoulder, which could result in a prolonged absence from the Octagon, but a final decision has yet to be made, Helwani added.
The 38-year-old Brazilian's injury reportedly dates back to his 2014 bout against Jon Jones.
Teixeira was set to headline the UFC's return to Brazil Sept. 22 at the Ginasio de Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo. Dana White is currently seeking a replacement to fight Manuwa in the card's main event.
Teixeira has lost three of his last five fights, most recently to Corey Anderson in July.
