Ohio State says Meyer investigation will be completed 'within 14 days'

David Kadlubowski / The Arizona Republic

Ohio State announced on Sunday that the investigation of head coach Urban Meyer will be completed "within 14 days," according to college football insider Brett McMurphy.

"Ohio State is committed to a thorough and complete investigation. We look forward to sharing the results of this investigation and any action the university may take," the statement continued.

The Buckeyes placed Meyer on paid administrative leave Wednesday after Courtney Smith, the ex-wife of former Ohio State assistant football coach Zach Smith, stated that Meyer knew of a domestic violence allegation levied against her former husband in 2015.

Meyer defended himself against the accusations, claiming he took "appropriate action."

Buckeyes offensive coordinator Ryan Day is serving as acting head coach in Meyers' absence. Ohio State is set to start its season against Oregon State on Sept. 1.
