Baltimore Orioles reliever Zach Britton, a rumored trade candidate since the offseason, will almost certainly be wearing a new uniform come the July 31 trade deadline.

According to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports, the New York Yankees are eyeing the lefty, as well as San Diego Padres closer Brad Hand.

Since returning from the disabled list, Britton's production has been a mixed bag. He's posted a 5.06 ERA with eight strikeouts and seven walks in 10 2/3 innings, recording one save.

Hand, meanwhile, is one of the most coveted closers in the game. Despite an inflated 3.05 ERA (compared to 2.16 in 2017), he's recorded 24 saves with a 13.28 K/9 in 41 1/3 innings.

Britton could cost less than Hand by virtue of being a free agent after 2018. Hand, 28, is under contract through 2020 with a club option for 2021.

In adding either player, the Yankees would bolster one of the best bullpens in the game. Entering Sunday, only the Houston Astros' relief corps has been worth more wins above replacement (17.6) than New York (14.4) in 2018.
