Ric Flair to undergo surgery next week
Ric Flair is scheduled to go under the knife again following last summer's health scare.
The WWE Hall of Famer will undergo surgery July 9 to reverse an ileostomy procedure that was performed last August, his fiancee, Wendy Barlow, told Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet.
An ileostomy involves bringing the lowest part of the small intestine through a surgical opening in the abdominal wall to form a stoma. Flair is undergoing the surgery in the hopes that he'll no longer be required to drain a pouch.
Flair said he was given 20 percent odds of surviving after being hospitalized, which he attributed to his alcohol issues.
"I crashed in an airplane and broke my back, I've been hit by lightning. But this is totally different," Flair told Elissa Rosen of People in September. "Anything I've been through before is nothing like this."
