Report: Mets' Familia drawing interest from several teams

While many members of the New York Mets could be on the move before MLB's July 31 trade deadline, closer Jeurys Familia may be one of the first to go.

Several teams have reportedly been in contact with the Mets about their star reliever in recent weeks, the New York Daily News' Kristie Ackert wrote in the Baltimore Sun.

Familia lost part of June to the disabled list thanks to shoulder soreness and has been somewhat shaky since his activation, including one abominable outing in which he allowed four earned runs on three hits without recording an out.

He seems to have righted the ship, though, recording his first save in over a month on Sunday when he hurled a perfect inning against the Miami Marlins. For the season, Familia has posted a 3.38 ERA with 15 saves and 39 strikeouts over 34 2/3 innings.

The 28-year-old set a Mets record in 2016 by converting 51 saves opportunities.

Familia was suspended 15 games in 2017 for violating MLB's domestic violence policy. He later missed most of the season due to a blood clot in his shoulder.

If the Mets continue to spiral downward in the NL East standings, Familia could be wearing a different uniform in no time.
