Schroder deletes all but one photo, appears to unfollow Hawks on Instagram

Simply spring cleaning or a sign of bubbling discontent?

Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder appears to have doused his Instagram account with gasoline and set it ablaze, deleting all but one photo, and appearing to unfollow his current team.

Other than wearing an Atlanta United FC soccer shirt in his profile picture, you wouldn't even know the floor general has any ties to the city.

The last remaining vestige of Schroder's Instagram presence is a photo from September 2017 that also does not draw any connection to the Hawks:

Speaking to reporters in his native Germany on Monday, Schroder said his agents are going to meet with the team in Atlanta on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss his future.

Schroder had his finest individual season in 2017-18, averaging 19.4 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game, but the Hawks floundered to a 24-58 record - their worst output since 2004-05.

"I will be 25 in September and of course you want to win a title some time," Schroder said, per FIBA's David Hein. "In my prime - 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 - I want to compete. I cannot be second to last in the Eastern Conference. That's why I will have the talks with the Atlanta Hawks."

With $46.5 million remaining on Schroder's contract over the next three seasons, managing the relationship with the team's top current talent will be crucial for Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk.
