Chuck Liddell wants back in.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion is teasing a third fight with rival Tito Ortiz through Oscar de la Hoya's "Golden Boy Promotions." But even if that falls through, Liddell says he's coming back.

"I will fight again," he said Monday on The MMA Hour. "I miss it ... I feel like I can still perform."

Liddell, 48, confirmed he is in talks with De la Hoya and clarified that Ortiz is not his only possible opponent - whom he knocked out in their previous two encounters in 2004 and 2006 - but noted that whoever he fights would likely be a rematch from his UFC career. However, he did provide one other name that may come as a surprise to most fight fans.

"To be honest, in my mind, I'd like to fight two good warm-up fights then I'd like a shot at Jon Jones," said Liddell. "I'm serious. I'd like a shot at him."

Liddell wants to get back in the cage by the end of the year, most likely in California or Las Vegas. "The Iceman" last fought in 2010, losing to Rich Franklin and ending his career with losses in five of six bouts. Liddell says he's open to fighting with other promotions, including Bellator, and that he doesn't see a reunion with the UFC.

"As long as I'm still competitive and as long as people want to watch me, I don't mind fighting," he said. "If you don't like it, don't watch. Go watch the old films of me, it's okay. It's okay with me."
